Experts discuss consumer applications for drones
Just about every other panel at CES 2016 is about drones, and a group of experts gathered to discuss the most promising consumer applications for the budding industry. Panelists discussed safety considerations, regulation, technology trends related, and even the subject of drone etiquette. Colin Guinn, Chief Revenue Officer for 3D Robotics remarked that flying is often a superpower in myths, and drones are one outlet that allows pilots to explore that desire. The four panelists, including Brendan Schulman, VP, Policy & Legal Affairs for DJI, Henri Seydoux, CEO and Founder of Parrot, and Yariv Bash, CEO of Flytrex Aviation, agreed that regulation is good for the drone industry. In addition to regulation, there is also the issue of consumer drone etiquitte. Since the the consumer drone industry is so new, the social norms haven't been formed. Mr. Schulman offered that in the future, he believed that commmunities would develop norms for drone operation at the local level.
